Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz’s former associate Joel Greenberg is planning to enter into a plea agreement with the federal government. In that plea deal, he has agreed to “cooperate fully in the investigation and prosecution of other persons.”
According to the New York Post, Greenberg is expected to enter a guilty plea on six federal charges, including sex trafficking with a child on Monday.
According to the plea agreements, Gaetz admitted he paid women for commercial sex acts. Between 2016 and 2018, he spent more than $70,000 on escorts, including at least one underage girl. He also admits to introducing the minor to other adult men who also had sex with her.
“Greenberg also introduced the Minor to other adult men, who engaged in commercial sex acts with the Minor,” states the plea agreement.
The agreement does not identify any of the other adult men. Investigators are looking into whether Gaetz was one of the men and if he had a sexual relationship with the underage girl. Gaetz is not currently facing any charges.
Greenberg faces a minimum of 12 years in prison but could see his sentence reduced if he fully cooperates.
