Event organizers have confirmed that Jay-Z will address Wall Street executives at this year’s annual investor conference, Robin Hood Foundation.
According to the New York Post, the Brooklyn-born rapper will likely discuss his business career, which includes his most recent deal to sell music streaming service Tidal to Jack Dorsey-owned Square. Under the deal, he has joined the company’s board of directors.
Formally known as Shawn Carter, Jay-Z founded his legendary entertainment empire Roc Nation and a cannabis brand called Monogram.
Among other things, Mr. Carter is the co-owner of champagne brand Armand de Brignac also known as “Ace of Spades.”; 50 percent of the company was purchased by luxury brand LVMH.
In the first part of 2021, Jay-Z started a $10 million investment fund created to help minority business owners who want to break into the burgeoning pot business, the New York Post reported.

He exemplifies the visionary, cutting-edge investor that shares our stage each year to provide expert insights while supporting the measurable and sustainable programs Robin Hood operates to elevate New Yorkers out of poverty,” John Griffin, founder of Blue Ridge Capital and Robin Hood board chair, told CNBC.
The conference is a fundraiser for the foundation to fight poverty in New York City. This will mark the first time Jay-Z has spoken at the annual meeting. The foundation says it has raised over $15 million through its investor conferences since it started doing them in 2013.
