A Florida airman has been accused of crossing state lines from his home base in Atlanta and raping an 11-year-old girl in her yard.
25-year-old Keith Norris Williams allegedly traveled from his airbase in Hurlburt Field in Okaloosa County, Florida, to meet with a minor in Decatur, Alabama. Yahoo! News reports that the man met the girl “via a dating app called Badoo,” according to authorities.
In October 2020, Williams sent the girl a Facebook friend request to a page that the girl’s father created. This was the first time anyone ever knew about Williams’ physical interaction with the girl. Acting as the girl, the father then asked Williams, “Do I know?” to which Williams resounded with “(Name redacted) from Badoo?”
During their exchange, Williams described what the girl was wearing the night of the incident and provided information about the makeup of her backyard. He also made comments about the rape “Ima (I’m going to) definitely marry you in the future lol,” he wrote. Eventually, the mother asked the child what her relationship was with the grown man.
The girl disclosed that she was sexually assaulted by the man and mentioned there were other prior incidents other than when the two were together in her backyard. The girl’s father immediately called the police and turned Williams in. The girl’s father filed the police report in February, and police arrested Williams on April 30 in Florida. He was then extradited to Alabama on May 15.
Williams has been released on a $60,000 bond. He was charged with first-degree rape, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, and electronic solicitation of a child. He’s been barred from leaving Alabama and is now under the supervision of the Air Force.
