The White House is really looking to reach the many people who are still undecided about getting the Covid-19. Wednesday the Biden administration detailed new incentives offered through private sectors.
According to The Washington Post, some of the incentives include free food delivery, baseball tickets, Xboxes and chances to win great prizes like cruise tickets, free groceries for a year and free airline flights.
The White House also announced they will launch a handful of community-based outreach initiatives, including local media campaigns, providing colleges with resources, and an effort to recruit 1,000 Black-owned barbershops and beauty salons across the nation to boost vaccinations in communities of color.
Biden is expected to declare June as “a national month of action” in an effort to implore more people to go out and get vaccinated. He has already set Independence Day as a target date by which he hopes to have 70% of adults in the U.S. at least partially vaccinated.
The President will also announce that he is tasking Vice President Harris to lead a “We Can Do This” national tour to highlight ways to get vaccinated. The White House said the Vice President’s focus will be on Southern states, where vaccinations lag behind much of the rest of the country.
The White House has reportedly created incentives like CVS-run sweepstakes to win free cruises, tickets to Super Bowl LVI and cash prizes; Door Dash gift cards; free tickets to Major League Baseball games for anyone who gets vaccinated at stadiums; Xboxes from Microsoft through Boys and Girls Clubs in hard-hit areas; free groceries from Kroger; and a sweepstakes ran by United Airlines to win a year worth of free flights.
