Barack and Michelle Obama will teach the kiddos all about civics in a new animated Netflix series, “We the People.”
Learning your rights and responsibilities as a citizen is extremely important. And it’s especially important for children to start understanding civics at a young age. Well, The Obamas have your babies covered.
Our forever presidential couple’s new animated show, “We the People,” will kick off as a 10-episode series, and it will feature three-minute music videos covering a variety of topics to enlighten “a new generation of young Americans about the power of the people,” Netflix wrote in a press release.
And some of the biggest names in the music industry came together to create the show’s original songs, including H.E.R., Janelle Monae, Andra Day, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and more. Writer and poet Amanda Gorman will also perform.
The show was created by Doc McStuffins writer Chris Nee, who will executive produce the series along with Michelle, Barack, Kenya Barris, and others. The premiere on July 4.
