Issa Rae will have a voice role in Sony’s upcoming animated pic Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Hollywood Reporter says that Rae will serve as the voice of Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, according to sources.
Rae joins Shameik Moore, the voice of Miles Morales, aka Spider-Man, and Hailee Stanfield, who voiced Spider-Gwen.
Deadline reports that the film is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 7, 2022. It is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.
Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg will return as producers. Alonzo Ruvalcaba will serve as co-producer.
Peter Ramsey, who directed Spider-Verse, is also returning as an executive producer, alongside Aditya Sood.
Lord and Miller will be listed as credited writers on the film, along with David Callaham.
