Khloé Kardashian has settled her $10 million fraud lawsuit after she was accused of ripping off a Black designer’s bedazzled bodysuits for her Good American brand.
According to RadarOnline, the company dbleudazzled has dropped its lawsuit against Kardashian after the two parties came to a confidential agreement.
Back in May, the issue stems from dbleudazzled, which Black designer Destiny Bleu owns, filed a complaint against Kardashian and her company Good American. The designer called out the reality star for stealing her bedazzled designs and asked the court to run them $10 million in damages. Bleu’s designs have been worn by heavy-hitter stars, including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, and more.
In the complaint, Bleu accused Kardashian and her team of borrowing several clothing items to wear and be seen in. Instead of wearing them, Bleu said the reality star used the pieces as a blueprint for her own line of bodysuits that she sold through Good American.
Kardashian “purchased and borrowed numerous pieces of Planitff’s clothing, user the false pretense that the clothing items were for Kardashian’s personal use,” Bleu and her legal team stated in the lawsuit. “Instead, months later, Kardashian and Good American launched a new line of Good American bodysuits better (her) designs, without acknowledging (her) or properly compensating for the designs,” the complaint continued.
In response, Kardashian’s legal team said the allegations were “flagrantly false,” and her attorney said Bleu’s claims were nothing more than a “cheap publicity stunt and an attempt by Ms. Bleu to get her 15 minutes of fame.”
