Stevie J may be able to put his child support woes behind him within the next month. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star is nearing a plea deal with the federal government over his $1 million in unpaid child support.
You may recall Stevie J had two children with his ex-girlfriend back in 1997 and 1998 and was ordered to pay $6,600 a month which was later raised to $8,800. At the time he had it, considering he was a Grammy award winning songwriter and producer. Apparently he stopped paying some time in 2001 and the past due amount kept rising and rising. It’s reported that Stevie J made $193,499 from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta from January – August 2013 and received over $105k in royalties, so he’s not broke by far.
According to TheJasmineBrand.com, Stevie J is in talks to reach some sort of settlement in the next month which will determine how much child support he will have to pay and how much time (if any) he’ll need to sit in jail. I’m sure this will put a damper on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta taping which will resume before you know it. Stevie J’s next hearing is scheduled for January 9th.
Let’s also address the elephant in the room. It’s been several months and Joseline does not appear to be pregnant. If she ever was, I’m sure that will play out on the show.Â
