Chrissy Teigen and Michael Costello

Chrissy Teigen Calls Out Michael Costello Over Fake DM’s

Over the past few days, model and author Chrissy Teigen has been embroiled in a messy back and forth with fashion designer Michael Costello. After initially being called out by him for bullying, Teigen is now claiming that he is spreading lies about her.

Earlier this week, Teigen came forward to apologize for past offensive tweets. Costello responded to this by detailing trauma that he endured from Teigen, which he claimed pushed him to the brink of suicide. The world-renowned designer even offered supposed screenshots of an interaction with Teigen as proof of the abuse. However, the 35-year-old television personality immediately discredited the messages as being fake.

“No idea what the f— Michael Costello is doing,” Teigen said in a lengthy Instagram post. “He just released a statement where he didn’t at ALL acknowledge how fake the dm’s were, & now claims to have emails that don’t exist.” The post also included a lengthy official statement on the matter.

Her famous husband, John Legend, also came to her defense on Twitter, insisting that Costello’s DM’s posted were fabricated.

“Chrissy apologized for her public tweets, but after her apology, Mr. Costello fabricated a DM exchange between them. This exchange was made up, completely fake, never happened. Receipts below,” Legend wrote.

Costello responded to Legend, also via Twitter, stating that while he understands why the Grammy-award-winning musician is coming to his wife’s defense, Teigen is not innocent.

“Your wife has hurt good people and done a lot of shady things offline to ruin other people’s careers. You may not know that, but she does.”

Ironically, Costello has also been accused of racism and mistreatment of Black models in the past, which has resurfaced during his war of words with Teigen.
