Rudy Giuliani’s law license was suspended by the New York Supreme Court earlier today because of the false statements he made relating to voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
The court ruled there was “uncontroverted evidence” that the former New York City mayor and former United States attorney for the Southern District of New York made knowingly false statements while acting as legal counsel one-term President Donald Trump.
“These false statements were made to improperly bolster respondent’s narrative that due to widespread voter fraud, victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was stolen from his client,” the court ruling stated.
The Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court announced it was “immediately suspending” Giuliani’s license. However, it is an interim suspension to have an opportunity for reinstatement at a later time.
