Teen Killed After Fight Led To Shooting At Texas Six Flags

One teen boy identified as Dai’trell Teal was killed after a fight broke out outside Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington, Texas.

On Wednesday, around 7 pm, an off-duty police officer – who works part-time as security at the park – witnessed six to eight people fighting outside the theme park.

Just as he was about to break up the fight, a gunshot rang out, hitting a 16-year-old male in the back. “We are working a shooting at Hurricane Harbor. One person has been shot and transported to a local hospital. This is not an active shooter situation. Officers are actively working the scene and speaking with witnesses. The incident occurred at closing time around 7:03 pm,” reads a tweet posted by the Arlington Police Department.

In a later post, the department updated the public, saying the teen was pronounced dead and informed anyone with information to contact a detective assigned to the case. “Final update regarding the shooting outside of Hurricane Harbor. 16-year old teen pronounced deceased at the hospital. Officers detained subjects and are working to determine if they are involved. Anyone with info is asked to come forward and call Detective Simmons 817-459-5735,” read the statement. The teen was determined to be dead after he was taken to the hospital.

Several suspects were apprehended at the scene, but no one has been charged in connection to the shooting. “Officers detained subjects and are working to determine if they are involved,” the department said.
