The Isley Brothers have been honored with two streets named after them in New Jersey.

The large renaming event took place on Thursday with a large outdoor celebration that featured a dance team, hundreds of spectators, and a speech by the award-winning brothers.

The streets are located in the North Jersey towns of Englewood and neighboring Teaneck. They invited their fans to join them during the renaming ceremony nearly two weeks ago in an Instagram post.

“I’m truly grateful and humbled that Teaneck and Englewood, two cities that are so near and dear to me, have chosen to honor the Isley Brothers in this way,” said Ron Isley.

Both ceremonies took place on the same, renaming an area of Van Arsdale Place in Teaneck and a stretch of Liberty Road in Englewood. Their names are now The Isley Brothers Way. The first ceremony took place at 2 p.m. on the corner of Van Arsdale and Van Cortlandt Terrace in Teaneck, followed by the 3:30 p.m. renaming ceremony at the intersection of Liberty Road and Greenleaf Avenue in Englewood.

Ernie Isley said that both places are near to the brothers, with him formally residing on Liberty Road in Englewood, while Ron previously lived on Van Arsdale in Teaneck.
