Rapper T.I. is firing back in court at Sabrina Peterson and her lawsuit against him for defamation.
Peterson is suing the “Top Back” star and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, claiming the couple smeared her name across social media following her claims that T.I. held a gun to her head and threatened to kill her.
According to her suit, Tiny referred to her former friend as “strange” and said, “everybody knows you been special.” Peterson says that these claims have made her the target of online bullying and intimidating messages.
However, TIP claims that Peterson cannot sue him over comments from strangers because those are simply opinions. He also claims her reputation is already heavily tarnished, so he and his wife can’t inflict any more damage.
Andrew Brettler, the attorney representing the rapper, says Peterson “is an adjudged liar, a convicted felon with a lengthy rap sheet for crimes involving dishonesty and violent assault, and has a reputation for being unscrupulous.”
T.I. is asking a judge to throw out Peterson’s lawsuit due to it being nothing more than a publicity stunt.
No ruling has been made.
