Judge Denies Request To Remove Jamie Spears From Britney Spears Conservatorship

Britney Spears’ counsel requested that the judge in her conservatorship case remove her father, Jamie Spears as the conservator of her estate, but the judge denied the request and said Jamie would remain as conservator for the time being.

Back in November, Britney’s lawyer, Sam Ingham, requested that Jamie be removed from his conservatorship duties, but the judge dismissed the motion. According to reports, Ingham wanted Bessemer Trust to take over as sole custodian of her estate, but the judge refused.

Unfortunately, Ingham ignored the situation for months, even though he was required to file specific documents for Bessemer’s new position to take effect. Finally, Ingham filed court documents requesting that Bessemer be appointed as a co-conservator. The judge gave his approval but added that Jamie would continue to serve as co-conservator. The judge also stated that Ingham’s motion for Jamie’s suspension had been denied.

As it was recently reported, Britney wants Jamie out of the picture completely, so it’s safe to assume that her lawyer will submit another motion to have Jamie removed.

For months, everyone assumed that Bessemer had been functioning as co-conservator of Britney’s estate, but that is not the case. Bessemer isn’t a co-conservator yet since certain documentation must be filed before the judge’s order takes effect.

Jamie has been and will continue to be Britney’s sole conservator.
