Former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Tamorrion Terry has been indicted on a murder charge related to the June 30, 2018, death of Za’Qavia Smith.
The Grand Jury indictment related to the shooting death of the 21-year-old names Terry and 10 other defendants.
Smith died in a gang-related mass shooting at the Studio 2.0 nightclub in Ashburn, Georgia. According to Kiro 7 News, at least seven people were shot that night.
ESPN reports that a source close to the football player says he plans to turn himself in to authorities and that Terry has been cooperative with authorities throughout the investigation. The source also says that Terry is confident that his name will be cleared.
Earlier this year, Terry was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks — but on Wednesday, the team waived him.
Travis Rudolph, another former Florida State University football player, was indicted on murder charges in April.
