An Austrian man was in for a rude awakening when he woke up for his first bathroom trip of the day and ended up being bit in the genitals by a snake.
The unidentified 65-year-old man sat down on the toilet at about 6 a.m. when he “felt a ‘nip’ in the genital area” shortly after sitting down. According to the Daily News, when the victim got up, he saw a five-foot reticulated python inside his toilet bowl.
The man was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Police believe the python possibly slithered through the drains after escaping from a neighboring apartment. The 24-year-old owns a total of 11 non-venomous snakes and a gecko.
The snake’s owner is now under investigation for a possible charge of causing bodily harm by negligence.
As for the snake, a reptile expert was called in to get the snake out of the toilet. The python was cleaned off and given back to his owner.
The incident happened in a city about 100 miles south of Vienna.
