Bill Cosby Wants To Return To Stand Up Comedy, 5-Part Docuseries In The Works On His Life and Time in Prison

Now that he’s out of prison, Bill Cosby is resuming his career in showbiz; he’s working on a docuseries about himself, but what’s more unexpected is that he’s planning on returning to standup comedy.

Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s agent, tells TMZ that the 83-year-old comic wants to go on the road and make jokes, and his camp has contacted numerous promoters and comedy clubs who are reportedly receptive to the idea.

Despite significant criticism and indignation after his release from prison, Wyatt asserts, “The world wants to see Mr. Cosby.”

Cosby is also said to be working on a five-part docuseries about his life, legacy, trial, and jail experience, and he’ll be sitting down for his interview for the project soon.

The show’s producers have reportedly shot interviews with Cosby’s family, friends, and other celebrities thus far.

A prospective comedy tour isn’t the only thing that has Cosby’s attention; we’re told he also wants to make appearances in prisons, schools, and neighborhoods across the country, encouraging people to be better citizens and reduce crime.

According to Cosby’s agent, the idea for a speaking tour came from his own experiences in prison, where he heard compelling stories from other convicts, such as a father and son who are incarcerated together.

Cosby is also working on a book with novelist Frederick Williams on his criminal case and time in prison.

As TMZ previously reported, Cosby, like O.J. Simpson, may earn thousands of dollars in public engagements after his release from prison.

It appears that Cosby is ready to cash in, but it will be interesting to see how much public interest there is.
