Some of our favorite athletes will show up and show out as Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics!
The Olympics are right around the corner, and some of our faves are ready to take home the gold. Gymnast Simone Biles is Team USA’s most popular competitor. The five-time Olympic gold medalist and a seven-time national champion will be returning for her second Games, and she will compete in four events, including all-around, floor, vault, and beam.
Soccer player Megan Rapinoe, 36, is coming back for her third Olympics. PEOPLE reports Rapinoe earned her gold in London back in 2012. She’s also taken home gold in two FIFA Women’s World Cups, one in 2015 and 2019.
Getting it popping in tennis is 17-year-old Coco Gauff, the youngest tennis player since 2000. This will be her first Olympic appearance, the news outlet reports. Taking it to court is NBA star Kevin Durant; he was the lead scorer for Team USA back in 2012, during the London Games. He also scored the most during the 2016 Rio Olympics. The 32-year-old is the fourth American male basketball player to be selected for three or more Olympic teams.
Other notable American athletes confirmed to compete are Kevin Love (basketball), Devin Booker (basketball), Simone Manuel (swimming), Allyson Felix (track and field), Sydney McLaughlin (track and field), Trayvon Bromwell (track and field), Jessica Springsteen (horseback riding) and more.
