Chicago star G-Herbo has never shied away from his support for Nicki Minaj. During a recent chat with Elliott Wilson, he made sure to give Minaj her flowers once again.
During the discussion celebrating the release of his latest album, “25,” Wilson spoke about Nicki Minaj hopping on Herb’s breakout track, “Chi-Raq,” and how that shaped the rapper’s career.
“Definitely shout-out to Nicki for that. That was like my first big break. You know what I’m saying. And that just go to tell you how long I’ve been just trying to get on that path of stardom.”
Herb went on to add that “Chi-Raq” gave him “confidence as an artist” at the time of its release when he was just 17-years-old.
“To see if I could actually do it or not, rap toe-to-toe with the best of ’em. Nicki a female emcee, but she still like the hardest ever. And she harder than a lot of male emcees. For me to be able to get on a track with her and hold my own, it just gave me confidence to keep going.”
