Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran says he doesn’t think rapper 50 Cent knew who he was even after working together.
Sheeran, 30, appeared on the latest episode of Complex Media’s “Hot Ones.” While there, he shared his thoughts on his relationship with Fif. The two worked together on a 2019 track called “Remember The Name,” featuring himself, 50 and Eminem. While the three men took the time to create a song together, Sheeran is convinced the rapper still doesn’t know who he is.
“If you were to go into my school and go, at the height of Shady Records, at the height of Aftermath [Entertainment], and go, ‘which one of these kids is gonna do a song with Eminem and 50 Cent?’ No one would’ve guessed me,” joked Sheeran.
He went on to explain a time when he and 50 saw one another at Wembley Stadium in the U.K., “50 will probably disagree with this, [but] I don’t think 50 had a f*cking clue who I was. I think afterwards he was like, ‘Oh, the ‘Shape Of You’ guy!’”
