On Thursday, a 21-year-old California man was shot and killed as he sat in the driver’s seat of his car on Instagram Live with a friend.
The coroner identified the victim as Zerail Dijon Rivera of Inglewood, who died of multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
During the IG live session, Red Boy joked about not having a “strap” on him. Soon after, someone approached the vehicle and fired multiple rounds.
Red Boy fought to breathe and can be heard telling his friend where he is, “Hawthorne.”
According to LT. Ti Goetz, the victim was targeted and appeared to have been a walk-up shooting. The suspect fled the scene of the multi-story, gated apartment complex.
Goetz stated that detectives are checking surveillance systems in the area and looking for leads.
It has been said that the man on the other end of the Instagram Live session has consistently disrespected Nipsey Hussle’s mural and painting over it.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the 14100 block of Chadron Avenue, Los Angeles CBS Local reported.
