Chicago rapper KTS Dre was shot dead in a hail of bullets while exiting from a jail facility. Born Londre Sylvester, the 31-year-old rapper was just released from jail Saturday evening.
A 60-year-old woman accompanied Sylvester at the time of exiting the facility. The woman got shot as well as a 30-year-old woman who was also there at the scene. Both women are reported to be in good condition, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Sylvester was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital after fatally succumbing to bullet wounds to the head and other parts of his body. He was shot as many as 64 times, according to a police report obtained by the Chicago Tribune.
Reports from local news outlets say Sylvester was the “intended target” after just being released from jail with an ankle monitor.
Several suspects exited from two cars in front of the facility, “and all began to shoot in Sylvester’s direction, striking him numerous times,” the Chicago Tribune reported. The suspects fled the scene in their vehicles.
No arrests have were made at this time. Police stated there were cameras in the area that will be under review as evidence.
