A man from Michigan is facing charges for allegedly attempting to kill his live-in girlfriend. He poured gas on her and set her on fire, according to local news reports. The incident occurred on July 12th.
The perpetrator, James Lewis Carlock, 34, from Harper Woods, Michigan, began arguing with his girlfriend around 3:00 a.m. Monday. He allegedly poured gas on her and set her on fire. He reportedly fled the scene in her car that he stole and was located later in Detroit.
Carlock reportedly faces multiple felony charges, including assault with intent to murder and assault, to do great bodily harm less than murder. He is charged as a fourth habitual offender. He was given a $150,000 cash bond and is scheduled for court on July 28 for a preliminary examination.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition and is expected to have a full recovery.
