BET Presents New Reality Series “Music Moguls” – blogged by @niksofly

To truly know Hip-Hop and R&B is to know those that help cultivate the genre and culture. Last October, #BET released the news that there was a reality series laced with star power coming June of this year. As promised, it has arrived and will premiere Tuesday, June 28.

#MusicMoguls features four of the prominent curators of the music industry:  #SnoopDogg, #DameDash, #JermaineDupri and Mr “Put Some #Respek On My Name” #Birdman.The series takes you behind the scenes into the lives of the moguls as they juggle business, family and life-even when it comes at them quickly. 

Equipped with wisdom, laughter and real moments, #MusicMoguls demonstrates the intensity of passion needed to be successful in the industry.  Snoop declares himself as the authority of marijuana, launching MerryJane.com – a smorgasbord of information pertaining to health, news and culture . Viewers will see the business side of Snoop as well as his philanthropic endeavors and tour life with Wiz Khalifa.

Widely known for launching the successful music label, Roc-A-Fella Records , serial entrepreneur and businessman Dame Dash keeps an iron in the fire as he continually cultivate brands and expand his own. His latest endeavor causes concern with long-time colleague, and friend Jermaine Dupri, who finds Dash’s talk show on public access to be less than mogul-like. His concern is met with skepticism as Dame questions where he was at when everything went down? Dame spares no feelings as he talks his life, the ups and downs of being a mogul and how he moved pass the Roc-A-Fella situation.

So So Def Creator Jermaine Dupri is known for bestowing the music industry with countless talented acts, as well as producing some of the greatest songs that were soundtracks of the decade. Known for having a knack for young protégés,  JD is introduced to Carson (Leuders), a 14 year-old that has a voice as smooth as silk. Contending with the thought that he could have had #JustinBeiber and creating a popstar in terms of the genre of music, JD accepts the challenge.

You cannot mention Birdman without mentioning controversy. And while he seems to be at the center of many, his hustle is at the center of many more business deals. There is Cash Money and then there is Rich Gang- the new movement of Cash Money that has talent like Jacquees. Birdman  spares no expense if it means his artists can get to the next level. If you thought, Cash Money was taking over for the 9-9, 2000 only, Rich Gang has it from this day forward.
