CVS has announced that it will raise its minimum wage for hourly employees to $15 from $11 by the summer of 2022.
This pledge makes them the latest large US chain to offer a $15 starting rate as companies compete in the tight job market.
The company has nearly 300,000 employees and said on Wednesday that they would increase wages for hourly workers this month and hit the $15 an hour mark across the company by July of next year.
The pharmacy giant will also increase starting rates for other positions, such as pharmacy technicians and call center representatives, to above $15.
The company also noted that nearly 65% of CVS’s hourly workers already make more than $15 an hour.
