A 7–Eleven clerk in Texas has been arrested and charged with murder after he decided to open fire on two men who had reportedly shoplifted beer from the store.
Investigators said the shooting occurred on Wednesday night after two men entered a 7-Eleven in Dallas and walked away with four cases of beer.
Officials say that’s when the 23-year-old clerk, Delon Johnson, followed the men to the parking lot and confronted them, demanding they hand over the beer.
During the confrontation, Johnson allegedly opened fire on the men, hitting one of them, who later died.
Johnson called 911 and reported the shooting, and officers arrived on the scene at about 11 p.m.
A spokesperson for 7-Eleven told Fox News, “We are saddened by the incident that occurred on Wednesday night. We are working with local law enforcement to provide any information helpful to their investigation.”
