Johna Lamont

Another week, another Florida resident making the news for chaotic behavior.

This time, the spotlight is on 43-year-old Johna Lamont, who was arrested for test driving a 2018 Honda Accord and never returning it to a Clearwater, Florida car dealership last Monday. The vehicle was recovered several days later, but at the time, authorities did not know it was Lamont behind the wheel. Instead, they had surveillance images of her, which they shared on the internet.

On Saturday, the Clearwater Police Department shared on their Facebook page that they arrested Lamont thanks to “social media sleuths,” who spotted her on Clearwater Beach and recognized her from previous police social media posts.

Since stealing the vehicle to conceal her identity, Lamont had switched her hair color, though it wasn’t enough to shield her from arrest. She’s since been charged with grand theft auto and scheming to defraud. She remains in the Pinellas County Jail, where she is being held on a $15,000 bond.
