A Florida man is behind bars for allegedly forcing his girlfriend into prostitution when he lost his job.
The plot unfolded when a woman flagged down a Hialeah Police officer at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The unidentified victim told the deputy that she and her boyfriend, 31-year-old Brian Rodriguez, had gotten into an argument and that he was sex trafficking her against her will to support him financially. Even worse, the shaken woman reported that her boyfriend was forcing her to do cocaine before having sex with each client.
The officer was shown text messages on the victim’s cell phone that backed her claims. She was transported to the Human Trafficking Task Force Building for assistance. It remains unclear how long Rodriguez was pimping his girlfriend and whether or not he had other victims.
Rodriguez was arrested and hit with a slew of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and several human and sex trafficking charges. He is being held without bond.
