An anti-vaccination protest in Downtown L.A. turned violent yesterday, leaving one person stabbed and hospitalized in serious condition.
According to TMZ, the “Choose Freedom March” was held to protest the “medical tyranny” of mandatory vaccinations and “vaccine passports.”
The protests come as the L.A. City Council is considering a law requiring proof of partial vaccination before entering restaurants, bars, gyms, concert venues, movie theaters, and various businesses.
There were also counter-protesters on the scene, calling their mission “No Safe Space for Fascists” with a counter-demonstration against what they called “violent anti-vaxxers.”
Protesters from both sides squared off as violence erupted between the two groups. Pictures and video from the protests showed the moment two men attacked another with a utility knife, stabbing him repeatedly.
Police and paramedics quickly arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital.
