Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick is facing serious backlash after claiming that unvaccinated black people are the reason for the recent rise in Covid 19 infections across the United States.
Patrick made the outrageous claims to Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on Thursday night in a message he directed at Democrats who have criticized Texas for the way they have handled the surge.
“Democrats like to blame Republicans on that,” the Lt. Governor said. “Well, the biggest group in most states are African Americans who have not been vaccinated. The last time I checked, over 90 percent of them vote for Democrats in their major cities and major counties.”
Patrick also added, “In terms of criticizing the Republicans for this? We’re encouraging people who want to take the vaccine to take it, but Democrats are doing nothing for the African American community that has a significant high number of unvaccinated people,” he said.
