Rev. Jesse Jackson and his wife Jacqueline Jackson have both been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID–19 yesterday.
According to a statement from his organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the 79-year-old civil rights leader and his 77-year-old wife are being monitored at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
“Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. (79) and Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson (77) have both tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and are in Northwestern Hospital. Doctors are currently monitoring the condition of both. Anyone who has been around either of them for the last five or six days should follow the CDC guidelines,” the statement said.
The Chicago Tribune confirmed that Rev. Jackson and his wife were fully vaccinated in January of this year with the Pzifer vaccine, making this a breakthrough case.
