Former CIA Director Compares Donald Trump’s Supporters to the Taliban

A former CIA director said Donald Trump’s supporters are comparable to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

This past Thursday, former CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden retweeted a split picture on Twitter comparing the Taliban to Trump’s fans. The picture showed the Taliban and Trump supporters in two separate pictures, both with their groups driving in a line down a road. The photo with the Taliban was captioned “Their Taliban,” and the Trump supporters photo was captioned “Our Taliban.”

It didn’t take long for people to flood Hayden’s comments. Some wrote, “The CIA is a joke.” Another person chimed in, saying, “Shame on you for retweeting this. You know better.”

Hayden, a retired U.S Air Force four-star general, has previously served as Director of the National Security Agent and the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence on top of his role as the Director of the CIA.

Hayden’s Twitter reaction comes after news that the Taliban has retaken control of Afghanistan following the U.S.’s military’s exit from the country after almost 20 years.
