Lil Nas X is not here for people praising Tony Hawk over his blood skateboards after bashing the rapper for his blood Air Max collection.

If you recall, back in March, Lil Nas X collaborated with Brooklyn design collective MSCHF to release customized Air Max 97 “Satan” sneakers in alignment with his highly controversial “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” music video. The black and red shoe featured one drop of human blood and a satanic emblem on the laces. Needless to say, Nike, nor the rest of the world, for that matter, were pleased with the unauthorized collab, and it was quickly banned from being sold.

Fast forward to this week, when pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk debuted his line of limited edition skateboards in collaboration with Liquid Death that featured his own donated blood. The 100 skateboards retailed for $500 and sold out quickly after their release.

This did not sit well with the 22-year-old Grammy-Award winner. On Wednesday, Lil Nas took to Twitter and addressed the lack of outrage over Hawk’s new venture.

“now that tony hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? and maybe u were mad for some other reason?” he tweeted.

It appears that Lil Nas X was referring to people having a problem with his sexuality more than the fact that he used blood in his sneaker collab. However, he did not elaborate much after that tweet.

Tony Hawk nor Liquid Death has responded to Lil Nas’s critiques.
