Hip hop producer Mally Mall has turned himself into federal authorities to start his 33-month prison sentence.
A judge turned down his last-ditch attempt to postpone his prison sentence, saying Mall failed to articulate any reason why his health condition couldn’t be adequately treated while imprisoned.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the judge said he failed to show he couldn’t get a CT scan or biopsy while behind bars.
The producer said he had discovered a mass on his thigh that could be cancerous.
However, the judge ruled that she wouldn’t “entertain any further meritless delay tactics.” Therefore, Mall turned himself in to the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon.
His released date listed is December 15, 2023.
In 2019, Mall pleaded guilty to running an illegal prostitution service for more than 12 years. Federal prosecutors accused him of owning, operating, and managing several businesses surrounding prostitution.
His lawyer, Steve Sadow, told TMZ that “Mally Mall over the last several years had dedicated his life to music and helping people. He has fully recognized the error in his ways and has gone out of his way to try to make amends. He intends to take full advantage of each and every program offered by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.”
