Comedian Fuquan Johnson passed away over the weekend along with two others. A fourth person remains in the hospital.
Authorities say it was a batch of fentanyl-laced cocaine that killed the three and left the ex-girlfriend of Darius Rucker in a Los Angeles hospital.
Johnson, 42, a writer for “Comedy Parlour Live,” died at a Venice house Friday night, TMZ reported. Two other people were also confirmed dead at the scene.
Comedian Kate Quigley, who lives next door to the house and ex-girlfriend to the Hootie & the Blowfish singer, was hospitalized in critical condition, the New York Post reported.
A medical examiner will officially determine the three’s exact cause of death, but sources say all four were doing cocaine tainted with fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a synthetic painkiller and is 100 times more potent than heroin. It has been a factor in the deaths of Prince, Mac Miller, and Tom Petty.
