Cops seek the public’s help to find the suspect they believe fatally shot his pregnant ex-girlfriend after she arrived home from her baby shower with her new boyfriend.
The woman, identified as 31-year-old Shanice Young, was brutally shot in the head in front of her two children Saturday night in Harlem.
Police sources claim Young’s ex-boyfriend had been feuding with her current boyfriend over the paternity of her unborn child.
A claim Young’s family flatly denies, they assert that Soriano is a jealous and abusive ex- who could not accept that she had moved on into a new relationship.
“He stalked her. He came to do what he did, and he did it,” Thurman Young, the victim’s father, said. “He came after (her boyfriend), but he was too fast. He got away. So he turned around, and he shot my daughter in the face,” he explained.
The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Justin Soriano, allegedly confronted the couple as they sat doubled parked unloading gifts from the shower.
A brief argument ensued, and Soriano pulled out a firearm, chased the boyfriend through the building, and back out before the boyfriend escaped.
Soriano then confronted Young, who witnessed say, asked him, “Why are you doing this?” The suspect responded, “Why am I doing what?” before shooting the woman three times in the head.
Young’s two daughters, ages 15 and 6, witnessed the horrifying scene.
