Four LAPD Officers Accused of Falsifying Gang Ties

Four Los Angeles Police Department officers are being accused of allegedly adding false gang information to field interview cards. Reports claim the officers added the same false allegations that caused six cops to be criminally charged last year.

According to the LA Times, the four officers are currently under investigation, but no charges have been filed.

One of the officers involved in the investigation, Samantha Stauber Fielder, sued the LAPD last year, claiming that officers had a quota to meet concerning identifying gang members.

Fielder allegedly revealed that she “entered false gang information” on four different field interview cards, according to an internal report from the L.A. County district attorney’s office.

The other three officers, identified only by their last names, have been accused of doing the same thing at least once each.

Six officers were charged with falsifying police reports last year after a San Fernando Valley mother alleged that her son had been falsely misidentified as a gang member.

The LAPD admitted to “inaccuracies in the documentation complete by an officer,” based on evidence from body-worn camera footage and other information.
