A Florida high school football coach is accused of raping his teen Goddaughter.
On Monday, the Miami-Dade County police arrested 36-year-old Dominic Johnson on a sexual battery of a minor charge. Johnson worked as an assistant football coach and security monitor for Miami Carol City Senior High School for 11 years.
According to The New York Post, Johnson “denied the allegations” of raping his 16-year-old Goddaughter at his home on Sunday in North Miami-Dade. The girl told police the man raped her in a bathroom in his home.
According to his arrest report, Johnson texted the victim on Sunday and told her that he had a gift for her at his home. The report says she went to his home, and while there, asked to use to bathroom. The victim told police when she washing her hands, Johnson came inside and began to rub her buttocks over her clothing with his hands.
The arrest report says Johnson then “placed his hands inside the front of his pants and began to move in a back and forth motion.” He then told the teen he was going to get a condom and the victim told him, “no,” and tried to leave the bathroom. He then told her to be quiet and left to go get the condom, and then raped her.
“If I had the choice, I would have never spoke to him in the first place,” said the teen during an interview with WSVN. “He ruined me, he gained my trust and he broke it.” The alleged rapist has been ordered to stay away from the teen and her family
Johnson was held on a $25,000 bond, but he posted it later in the day on Tuesday. The high school is currently facilitating his immediate termination.
“Miami-Dade County Public Schools is deeply disturbed to learn about the circumstances that led to this individual’s arrest,” district officials told the Herald. “The allegations are reprehensible and unsettling, and will not be taken lightly.”
