A Florida janitor has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for hiding a camera in a girls’ restroom.
On Tuesday, a judge in Orlando federal court sentenced 31-year-old Derremy Jerrell Walker to 60 years in prison. His sentence comes after he was convicted in June on two counts of using or attempting to use children to produce sexually explicit videos, Fox News reports.
“Mr. Walker did more than just produce horror; he stole the innocence and trust of these young victims,” FBI Tampa Division Special Agent in Charge Michael McPherson said.
According to the news outlet, two 15-year-old girls ended up finding a hidden cell phone propped under the sink in student girls’ bathroom stall at Oviedo High School in November 2019. The girls took the phone to school administrators, who then contacted Oviedo police. Walker, at the time, was a contracted janitor.
Not only had Walker placed his cell phone in the students’ bathroom, but he also stationed it in the faculty bathroom. Fox News reports Walker was caught after a forensic analysis of the phone. Walker recorded 12 students altogether.
