A person of interest allegedly involved in the disappearance of a 19-year-old Florida woman has been found dead.
On Monday, police found the body Armando Manuel Caballero. Caballero worked as a maintenance worker at the Arden Villas apartment complex where the missing woman – Miya Marcano – lives and works. According to police, Caballero repeatedly made sexual advances toward Marcano, which the woman would deny. Both Marcano, 19, and Caballero, 27, went missing on Friday, CBS News reports.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says they “suspect foul play.” Caballero was found in an apartment in Seminole County; police believe he died by suicide, adding that he looked to have been dead “for quite some time.” During their investigation, police took Caballero’s car, which they found at the scene.
Marcano went missing at around 5 p.m. on Friday. At the time, she was expected to board a plane to go visit her family. By Tuesday, she was still missing, according to CBS Miami. Her apartment is located in Orlando, Florida.
Caballero previously told deputies that he last saw Marcano around 3 p.m. However, Sheriff John Mina says Caballero was known to have a “maintenance-issued master key fob” that would allow him into Marcano’s apartment.
Police say Caballero used the key to enter Marcano’s home on Friday around 4:30 p.m., about half an hour before Marcano’s work shift ended. Mina mentioned that a “few items” were missing from the woman’s apartment.
