In Florida, a daycare provider has been charged with child abuse after she was recorded abusing a one-year-old baby boy.

Surveillance footage from a Time of Wonder Academy in Tampa, Florida, shows 51-year-old Yamirka Menendez abusing children that she was supposed to be taking care of. The New York Post reports the woman has been accused of grabbing a one-year-old toddler by his wrists, swinging him in the air, and then dropping him. As a result, the boy’s leg was fractured, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition, Menendez was seen on tape “forcibly” grabbing a four-month-old and slapping the baby multiple times on Sept. 8. The news outlet reports that Menendez’s co-worker, 52-year-old Milagros Rodriguez, was charged for failing to report the child abuse.

The toddler boy’s mother realized something was wrong with her child after seeing him experiencing pain in his left a day after he was in daycare. When she took him to the hospital, doctors determined his tibia and fibula were fractured. The University of South Florida, Child Protection Team categorized his injuries as the result of physical abuse.

Both workers were charged on Tuesday.
