Nick Cannon could potentially be placed in Wendy Williams’ timeslot if the talk show host does not return.

A close source spilled the tea to Page Six that “executives have been talking” and are watching Wendy Williams’ situation closely after she once again delayed her return to TV due to her health. The source claims that while execs are “hoping for the best,” they are weighing their options.

“They have pushed back her show premiere several times, so they are already thinking of a backup plan,” the insider claimed.

The Nick Cannon Show could be an easy winner for the timeslot, considering its already established fanbase.

Williams’ health has posed several challenges for her show in recent weeks. In September, the 57-year-old revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19. That same month, she was admitted to Beth Israel Hospital for a mental health evaluation, though details as to why are scarce. Another insider previously told The Sun that Williams’ was struggling with alcoholism.

Season 13 of The Wendy Williams Show has been pushed back to October 18th, after being previously rescheduled to October 4th. Its original premiere date was September 20th.
