Will Smith recently went undercover on the internet with GQ to answer questions from fans, and inquiring minds wanted to know what was the best and worst movie he’s ever starred in.

“For the best, I think it’s a tie between the first ‘Men in Black‘ and ‘The Pursuit of Happiness.’ For different reasons, those are the two almost-perfect movies,” Smith said. “The worst? I don’t know, ‘Wild Wild West’ is a thorn in my side. To see myself in chaps… I don’t like it.”

To no surprise, both questions were easy for the Oscar-nominated actor to respond.

In 1999 when the movie “Wild Wild West” was released, it was met with poor reviews. Chicago Sun-Times writer, Roger Ebert said the movie was a “comedy dead zone.”

Smith said “You stare in disbelief as scenes flop and die. The movie is all concept and no content; the elaborate special effects are like watching money burn on the screen.”

The film received eight Razzie nominations, winning five of them, including worst script, worst director, and worst picture.
Wild Wild West reportedly has a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 17 %, making it one of the worst-reviewed films of the 1990s. According to Rotten Tomatoes, though, that isn’t Smith’s worst film. “Collateral Beauty,” which Smith co-starred in with his son Jaden Smith in 2016, had a 16 % rating, while “After Earth,” which Smith co-starred in with his son Jaden Smith in 2013, received a low 11% rating.
