A woman attacked a U.S. Capitol Police officer on Friday morning along First Street S.W. in Washington D.C., Capitol Police said in a statement.
The incident started around 9:30 a.m. when a 25-year-old woman, identified as Olivia Romero, was walking around the area carrying a baseball bat.
According to eyewitness reports, Romero became agitated when officers approached her and “assumed a batting stance” while trying to hit officers with the bat.
Cops tried to take the bat from her, and a scuffle ensued in which Romero bit one of the officers.
After the incident, the woman reportedly claimed she was “arrested illegally” and said cops attacked her.
Romero was eventually taken into custody, and charges are pending.
