As great of an actress as Gabrielle Union is, that was not always her dream. Turns out, the actress envisioned herself being a “video h*e.”
Like many girls in the early 2000’s, Union prior dreams were to be the “it” girl in music videos. Recently, Gabby sat down with The Old Man & The Three podcast hosts, mentioning her past aspirations.
In the clip, Gabrielle tells the host that she was initially discovered while working at a modeling agency during her last year in college.
“I got this internship in my last year of school, and I was like the office gofer, help, or whatever, and I worked in the kids department. So we were working with Hayden Panetierre and Jessica Biel and Shane West and all of those young child actors…and when my internship ended, they were like, ‘Would you ever consider being our clients and us representing you?’”
Gabby says she was initially hesitant because of her “low self-esteem” but was still determined to achieve her video vixen dream.
“Mind you, I had such low self-esteem, I wanted to be a video hoe so bad. That’s all I wanted. I didn’t wanna be in movies, I didn’t wanna be in commercials, I wanted to be the chosen video h*e.”
The actress even went to audition for Tupac’s “California Love” video. But during that time, Gabby’s dream was cut short because she lacked having the “requirements” like “big boobs or an ass.”
Even though Gabby wasn’t the “chosen h*e,” she still became a successful actress.
