Will Smith says he was ready to risk it all during his first marriage after falling in love with his “Six Degrees of Separation” co-star.

In his forthcoming memoir, ” Will, ” the decorated actor details his past feelings for co-star Stockard Channing.” The “Hitch” star previously explained in 2015 that while eager to perform well in the 1993 film, he began method acting. He described it as “reprogramming your mind” and teaching yourself to “like things and to dislike things.” At some point, he got so good at the form that it caused him to fall in love with Channing, which was “unsettling” for his first wife, Sheree. In his memoir, the 53-year-old expounds on these feelings.

Smith says that he moved back to Los Angeles with Sheree and their son Trey once the movie was finished but found himself “desperately yearning to see and speak to Stockard.”

Despite his love for Channing, Smith says that their relationship remained professional.

Following his initial 2015 comments, Channing said she was “flattered” and felt “protective” over him during the movie’s filming since it was his first major role.

In “Six Degrees of Separation,” Smith plays the role of Paul Poitier, a mysterious but charismatic young man who arrives at the home of the Kittredge family, claiming to have been mugged. Louisa “Ouisa” Kittredge, played by Channing, and John Flanders “Flan” Kittredge, played by Donald Sutherland, take a liking to him but soon realizes he is not who he claims to be. The film earned Channing a Best Actress nomination at the 1994 Academy Awards.

Smith’s long-awaited memoir will arrive on shelves November 9th and features several never-before-revealed stories, including his desire to kill his father at one point.
