Columbia University had to evacuate two campus buildings on Sunday after the school received a bomb threat. It was one of four received at an Ivy League school over the weekend.
Officials at Cornell University and Brown University also evacuated portions of their campuses due to bomb threats, the New York Post reported.
Two days before, Yale University was forced to temporarily shut down parts of its campus for the same reason.
WCAU-TV reporter Tyler Dumont tweeted that Brown University was clearing out some campus buildings “following a bomb threat.”
Hours earlier, Cornell did the same. “Cornell ALERT,” the school said on Twitter. “Law enforcement is on-site and investigating a campus bomb threat. The security perimeter is in place. Continue to avoid central campus.”
Authorities have not announced a link to the threats that have targeted the Ivy League schools.
A spokesperson for Yale University said it received a bomb threat on Friday.
On Sunday, Columbia spokeswoman Caroline Adelman said they also received a threat at its Manhattan university.
“We’ve only been notified by a text,” Adelman told The Post. “It mentions two buildings that are being evacuated and warns people to stay away.”
