Following the death of eight people at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival, Fortnite has removed the rapper’s music emote from its item shop.
The emote was removed from the game’s item shop, which included an audio clip of Scott’s song “Out West.”
Emotes are dance motions or actions that characters in the online game can execute. The shop’s Daily section was also momentarily blocked.
The Fortnite’s Twitter account wrote: “It’s known that the ‘Daily’ section of the Item Shop has been disabled. This is intentional and the ‘Daily’ section will return with the next Item Shop refresh.”
Last April, the 30-year-old rapper presented a virtual Fortnite concert in which he was digitally transformed into an avatar in the game. At that time, about 12 million people were watching.
