Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is accepting full responsibility for misleading people about his vaccination status. However, he says he is standing by his decision to remain unvaccinated.

Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, where he acknowledged he may have made an inaccurate statement when he referred to himself as “immunized” back in August. The QB is currently in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 last week.

“I made some comments that people might have felt were misleading,” Rodgers said. “To anybody who felt misled by those comments, I take full responsibility for those comments.”

He added, “I’m excited about moving forward and hopefully getting back with my team and getting back to doing what I do best, and that’s playing ball.”

He went on to say that he’s feeling better and is hoping to return to the field on Sunday against Seattle Seahawks. He will face some checkups before he can be cleared to play, and the earliest he can be given the OK to play is Saturday, just one day before the game.

But, he also doubled down on his decision not to get the shot. He maintains that he is allergic to an ingredient found in the mRNA vaccines. Rodgers says he is an athlete, not an activist.

“I’m an athlete; I’m not an activist,” he said. “So I’m going to get back to doing what I do best, and that’s playing ball. I shared my opinion; it wasn’t one that was come to frivolously. It involved a lot of study and what I felt like was in my best interest for my body.”

During the interview, he revealed that he sought advice from some of his friends who previously had the virus, not just podcaster Joe Rogan.

As for his involvement in preparing for Sunday’s game, all of that will have to take place over Zoom.
