HMPV Outbreak in China Sparks Concerns: Is it a Pandemic Threat?

A local pharmacy in Virginia is in hot water after at least 112 children were given the wrong doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Loudoun County Health Department claims “Ted Pharmacy” in Aldie “incorrectly administered” partial doses of adult vaccines to the kids, which was likely to either not fully protect the children or jeopardize them by giving them too much.

The health department’s director, David Goodfriend, told the Washington Post, “Because they did not have the children’s formulation, they used the adult formulation but only gave a third of the amount to the children.”

“Our understanding from Ted Pharmacy is they were trying to do a workaround, which is not authorized,” Goodfriend explained.

Authorities confiscated all of the pharmacy’s remaining coronavirus vaccine supply and ordered them to contact the families of children who’d received the shots there.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also sent guidance that says the kids should still get their second shot in three weeks as planned or even restart the two-shot series after that time.
